The KNUST CWA Calculator: Track, Predict & Plan Your Degree
Every KNUST student has asked the same question at some point: “What’s my CWA right now, and what do I need next semester to graduate with First Class?” We built a free, mobile-friendly tool that answers both — instantly.
What is CWA?
CWA stands for Cumulative Weighted Average — the official metric KNUST uses to determine your degree classification. It’s calculated by multiplying each course’s score by its credit hours, summing them up, and dividing by the total credit hours across all your semesters.
KNUST Degree Classification
| CWA Range | Classification | |
|---|---|---|
| 70 – 100 | First Class | ⭐ |
| 60 – 69.99 | Second Class Upper | 🏅 |
| 50 – 59.99 | Second Class Lower | 🎖️ |
| 40 – 49.99 | Pass | ✅ |
| Below 40 | Fail | ⚠️ |
